In 2015, I completed my Kenan Fellowship with NCSU in conjunction with the Morehead Planetarium/NC Science Festival and wrote space flight curriculum for upper-elementary students and created a statewide libraries program. I graduated from The Public School Forum's Education Policy Fellowship Program in May 2016 and will continue to work with them this year as the Wake County Beginning Teacher Network Coordinator.

I was born and raised in the Charlotte-area and love being from North Carolina. I support the Carolina Panthers, any major/minor league baseball, and all things March Madness (Go Heels!). I am a big fan of coffee, power naps, and flannel. I like to travel and had the chance to study abroad in Sevilla, Spain for a summer. My most recent travels have taken me to Seattle, WA for a leadership conference and Houston, TX to spend a week at NASA Johnson Space Center.

MEET THE TEACHER

My name is Allison Stewart and I am THRILLED to work with you and your child this year!

This is my second year at CCMMS teaching sixth grade for the Guardians team. After graduating from UNC in 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education and Hispanic Studies, I taught third grade for a year in a traditional school in Durham and then spent two years teaching third grade at a Spanish dual language immersion school in Chapel Hill. I love doing problem-based learning projects and have always loved the connections between literacy and science.
